Bloomberg Analyst: GLD Saw $15 Billion Outflows Since March, Exceeding Total Withdrawals from Bitcoin ETFs
Odaily reported that Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas stated on the X platform that the gold ETF SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) has seen nearly $15 billion in capital outflows since March 1st, a scale that is actually about 50% higher than the cumulative capital outflows from all spot Bitcoin ETFs since the peak last October.
Analysts believe the gold market is undergoing a capital adjustment phase "After the Gold Rush". Previously, gold ETFs attracted large inflows and pushed gold prices higher due to rising geopolitical risks, inflation concerns, and increased demand for safe havens. In contrast, spot Bitcoin ETFs experienced massive inflows after approval, but have seen capital flows fluctuate recently due to heightened market volatility.
The large-scale redemption of gold ETFs reflects that some investors are rebalancing their safe-haven asset allocation. Whether funds will flow into Bitcoin and other digital assets will be a key focus for the market going forward.
