Specter Reveals Clues on BONK DAO Governance Attack: Suspected Link Between Realms Founder’s Funds and Attacker
According to Odaily, on-chain security organization Specter released preliminary investigation results regarding the BONK DAO governance attack. After tracing the on-chain flow of funds, they found a significant suspicion: addresses related to the founder of Realms and Crypto Notte showed traces of fund interactions with the suspected attacker’s wallet.
According to the review, on June 30, the attacker published a malicious governance proposal, with the threshold for passing the proposal set at 1% of the circulating BONK voting power. From July 4 to 5, the attacker obtained sufficient voting weight—approximately $4 million—through purchasing tokens on exchanges and Marginfi borrowing, thereby advancing the proposal and completing the governance attack.
