Golden Ten Data reported on July 11 that the Trump administration plans to ease export restrictions on the UAE, clearing obstacles for its acquisition of a range of advanced technologies, including commercial satellites and semiconductors used for artificial intelligence. According to a notice to be released by the U.S. Department of Commerce next week, the UAE now meets the conditions for more relaxed treatment under U.S. export control law. The U.S. Department of Commerce also mentioned that the UAE supports the U.S. position in the anti-Iraq war effort. Easing export restrictions will allow UAE companies to proceed as planned with the purchase of advanced AI chips from NVIDIA, AMD, and Cerebras Systems. This agreement, reached more than a year ago between the U.S. and the UAE, stipulates that these companies will supply thousands of processors to G42, a UAE state-backed technology leader, for use in newly built AI data centers in the region.
