According to sources familiar with the matter, the United Arab Emirates is considering constructing a third oil export pipeline to transport crude oil to regions outside the Strait of Hormuz, aiming to significantly reduce the country's reliance on this shipping route. The sources stated that Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) is assessing the feasibility of building a new pipeline that would extend from the UAE's west coast to the eastern port of Fujairah. The pipeline may be open for third-party use and, together with the existing pipeline and another scheduled to be operational next year, would complement current infrastructure, thereby enhancing the UAE's capability to supply crude oil to clients in the event of future shipping disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz. Other sources indicated that ADNOC has introduced the pipeline plan to some Asian clients. However, details of the proposal, including the pipeline route, are yet to be finalized and may still change. An ADNOC spokesperson stated: “We have informed Bloomberg that the report is not accurate and is pure speculation.”
