GE Healthcare (GEHC.US) launches AI-enabled cardiac surgery imaging system, enhancing "AI + healthcare" use cases
GE Healthcare has launched an AI-powered imaging system for cardiac surgery.
According to Golden Ten Data APP, GE Healthcare (GEHC.US) unveiled Allia Celeo—a ceiling-mounted medical imaging system—on Sunday at the Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics Conference (TCT 2026) in San Diego. This system is designed for cardiac and other minimally invasive interventional procedures. Allia Celeo combines AI-assisted imaging, automatic device positioning, and remote monitoring technologies to assist clinicians performing vascular, cardiac, and other organ interventions. For investors, this launch expands GE Healthcare’s interventional imaging equipment portfolio—coming at a time when hospitals are seeking to improve surgical efficiency and control operational costs.
Allia Celeo is equipped with a wide-opening C-arm—an X-ray imaging device that rotates around the patient to capture images from multiple angles. The ceiling-mounted design provides extra space for medical staff and equipment, while automatic positioning aims to reduce interruptions during surgical procedures.
The AI software can automatically adjust imaging parameters to balance image quality and radiation dose. The device’s digital twin preview feature allows clinicians to preview before adjusting the system’s position.
The system is compatible with GE Healthcare’s software for coronary stent visualization, cardiac valve surgery guidance, and tumor treatment assistance, and it can operate in conjunction with OnWatch Predict, which uses remote monitoring and predictive analytics to identify potential issues before equipment failures occur.
Allia Celeo is the latest addition following the release of the floor-mounted Allia Moveo in 2025, which began commercial sales earlier this year.
