Manulife Financial Prices $750 Million Subordinated Notes Offering

04:24 AM EDT, 09/02/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Manulife Financial (MFC) said Tuesday it priced a $750 million public offering in the US of 6.146% subordinated notes due 2041. The debt securities, expected to count as Tier 2 regulatory capital and priced at 100% of their principal amount, are planned to be issued on Sept. 11, the company said. The notes will pay a fixed annual interest rate of 6.146% until Sept. 11, 2036, after which the rate will reset based on the applicable US Treasury benchmark rate plus 1.35%. Net proceeds will fund general corporate needs, including prospective debt refinancing, Manulife said.
