The US Vice President Vance stated that the recent international market has begun to feel an easing of upward pressure on oil prices, and Venezuela's oil production has seen significant growth. He pointed out that previous forecasts of oil prices soaring to $200 per barrel did not materialize. Although current oil prices remain higher than a few months ago, the market has shown relative stability.
Vance attributed part of the oil price stabilization to Venezuela's increased production, which is related to the recent energy agreement signed between the US and Venezuela. This agreement involves approximately 65 billion barrels of oil reserves in Venezuela. When asked about a specific timetable for production growth, Vance said, "It would be wrong to say when production will increase, because we have already seen the increase," emphasizing that growth has already begun.
The agreement has sparked market expectations for the recovery of Venezuela's oil industry, which has faced declining production and aging infrastructure for years. However, analysts caution that the size of reserves alone does not guarantee a rapid transformation into market supply; developing these resources requires large-scale investment and infrastructure repairs.
There are still questions regarding the conditions for implementing the agreement, the legal framework, and the transparency of companies participating in oil field development. Venezuela’s position in the international market will depend on whether production growth can be sustained and expanded, and the ultimate impact will be determined by the available investment, infrastructure repairs, and the ability to convert reserves into effective production.
