Breakthrough Achieved in Exploration of Anhui Chating Copper-Gold Mine

Exploration of copper and gold mines in the Chating area of Xuancheng City, Anhui Province, has made significant breakthroughs, potentially leading to the establishment of a large-scale copper-gold resource base in East China and enhancing the security of China's copper and gold resource supply. According to the Ministry of Natural Resources on September 1, the Chating copper-gold deposit is located in the Nanling-Xuancheng copper-gold ore cluster within the metallogenic belt of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, situated in the core of the Yangtze River Delta. In recent years, it has been identified as a newly discovered concealed porphyry-type copper-gold deposit with super-large potential in volcanically covered areas in China. The main ore body in the mining area is approximately 1.2 kilometers long and 1.1 kilometers wide, with a maximum apparent thickness in a single drill hole reaching 1,371 meters. Preliminary estimates indicate the potential copper resources exceed the scale of several large copper mines, while the potential gold resources surpass the scale of more than a dozen large gold mines. Currently, the deep ore bodies have not yet been fully exposed, suggesting substantial room for expansion of resource reserves. Associated silver, sulfur, and other valuable elements can be comprehensively recovered and utilized, and upon completion, the site is expected to become an ultra-large copper-gold production base in East China.
