No Cardano Drama? Hoskinson Thinks ADA Price Connection Is No Coincidence

UTodayUToday2026/08/22 11:45

Cardano chatter appears relatively quiet on social media X, with ADA community member Adam Dean pointing out a lack of "Cardano drama" on the timeline, while joking that he was switching to "GTA 6 drama" for the rest of the month.

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson engaged with Dean's post, offering a lighthearted reaction and suggesting that the project's online activity has long been closely tied to a token's price.

The Cardano blockchain also has native tokens defined as custom assets the ledger tracks directly, alongside ADA, without a smart contract for basic transfers.

Hoskinson's response appears to highlight a familiar pattern in the crypto market where discussions surrounding a blockchain project often become significantly louder when its native token is experiencing major price movements.

Cardano is trading relatively quietly in the market, albeit posting significant gains on a weekly basis after several catalysts sent crypto assets higher this week.

A relatively small change in the U.S. Treasury bond market contributed to one of the sharpest rallies in months for cryptocurrencies this week, as falling long-term yields offered traders an opportunity to unwind a record pile of pessimistic crypto bets.

At the time of writing, ADA was up 3.04% in the last 24 hours to $0.2194 and up 22.76% weekly. A four-day stretch of price increases had taken ADA to a high of $0.258, where it met resistance and slightly retreated.

Not all that quiet

All is not that quiet in the Cardano ecosystem as Dijkstra planning advances, with timeline and release quality in focus.

According to Intersect, planning for the Dijkstra era hard fork continues against the agreed scope and timeline, with increased focus on documenting the impact of individual changes, preparing the required protocol parameter and constitutional updates, and expanding ecosystem readiness activities.

The Haskell node teams remain committed to the targeted 2026 enactment, while release stability and quality remain the priority as work progresses toward a node release candidate.

Besant's "toolbox" struggles under the double pressure of oil prices and weak consumption, Goldman Sachs: "There is a scent of stagflation in the market"

Goldman Sachs believes that Baisent is trying to stabilize the long-term US bond market by expanding US Treasury repurchase operations and advancing fiscal consolidation. However, after a brief decline, long-term bond yields rebounded quickly, indicating that policy tools are still insufficient to resolve fiscal and supply-demand pressures. Meanwhile, stagflation signals have intensified: oil prices surged over 7% in a single week, and the 10-year breakeven inflation rate rose nearly 10 basis points in two weeks; yet consumer demand continues to cool, with Walmart same-store sales growth dropping to a six-year low of 2.6%. The "stagflation basket" rose 6.7% this week.
