Injective Secures SEC Transfer Agent Registration for Tokenized Securities

  • Injective Institutional Services is now registered with the SEC as a transfer agent.
  • The registration adds regulated ownership recordkeeping to Injective tokenized securities infrastructure.
  • Injective is extending its onchain capital markets stack across several asset classes.

Injective has added a regulated securities function to its onchain market stack. Its affiliate, Injective Institutional Services, is now registered with the SEC as a transfer agent. The Injective transfer agent structure can maintain ownership records and process changes for tokenized securities. Injective says the move gives its network a regulated recordkeeping layer for real-world assets.

Injective Transfer Agent Adds Regulated Ownership Records

Transfer agents maintain the official list of security holders and record ownership changes. They also support distributions and corporate actions. SEC staff permits registered transfer agents to use distributed ledger technology for the official master securityholder file.

That framework gives the Injective transfer agent a route to keep qualifying ownership records onchain. Records could be updated alongside settlement while preserving the required transfer-agent functions.

The registration also complements Injective Mint. The platform lets issuers create assets with holder and jurisdiction restrictions, controlled minting, redemptions, address freezes, and transfer pauses.

Injective says it is the first Layer 1 blockchain to combine RWA infrastructure and regulatory readiness. That is the company’s characterization, not a separate SEC determination about the blockchain itself.

Tokenization Stack Expands Into Onchain Capital Markets

The Injective transfer agent registration arrives after a wider tokenization push. Injective has supported markets tied to institutional funds, public equities, private-company exposure, and enterprise receivables.

In July, POSCO International and LG CNS selected Injective for a live trade-finance pilot involving receivables.

The network has also supported products involving Nomura’s Laser Digital, BlackRock, and Hamilton Lane. Injective says these efforts now sit above a regulated US recordkeeping layer.

Outside the United States, Injective has pursued MiCA-related work. Its INJ MiCA white paper appears on ESMA’s Interim MiCA Register following the required notification process.

The Injective transfer agent function does not itself turn every tokenized asset into a registered security. It provides regulated infrastructure for maintaining ownership records where that framework applies. The role targets a less visible part of tokenization: legal recordkeeping beneath issuance and trading.
