Chainlink and Polkadot Struggle to Draw New Investors, BlockDAG (BDAG) Just Raised $2M in a Single Day

A coin’s technology can be sound and its use case genuine, and it can still struggle to pull in fresh capital. Chainlink and Polkadot are both proof of that. Each has real infrastructure behind it, each has been through a full market cycle, and each has spent a long stretch watching new investor interest trickle rather than flow. When capital isn’t showing up in meaningful volume, that absence is its own kind of signal, one that’s easy to miss if you’re only looking at the technology and not at where the money is actually moving.

Chainlink Waits on New Capital

Chainlink remains one of the most important pieces of infrastructure in crypto, providing the oracle networks that feed real-world data into smart contracts across nearly every major blockchain. It sits at the center of two of the market’s biggest emerging trends, real-world asset tokenization and institutional DeFi, and major financial players continue building on its technology, with at least one major bank recently initiating a multi-year growth thesis on the token.

Yet that institutional respect hasn’t translated into a rush of fresh retail or investor capital. LINK trades around $8.70, roughly 84% below its all-time high of nearly $53, and has spent an extended stretch without the kind of new-money surge that would typically follow this much genuine infrastructure relevance. For a token this central to where the industry says it’s heading, the slow pace of renewed investor interest stands out.

Polkadot Still Hasn’t Reignited Interest

Polkadot tells an even steeper version of the same story. Built to let dozens of independent blockchains share security and communicate through its relay-chain-and-parachain design, it recently introduced a hard supply cap and halved token issuance, a direct structural fix aimed at the inflation concerns that long weighed on sentiment. Dozens of active parachains keep its ecosystem among the more developed in the space.

Despite that meaningful policy change, new capital has been slow to follow. DOT trades around $0.77, dramatically below its all-time high near $55, one of the steepest discounts among major coins in the market. A structural fix addressing a known concern should typically draw fresh investor attention; instead, Polkadot is still waiting for that renewed interest to materialize in any real volume.
