Hyperliquid treasury Hyperion triples quarterly profits as HYPE holdings rise in value

The BlockThe Block2026/08/12 21:21

Hyperliquid-focused treasury company Hyperion DeFi continues to buck the downturn weighing on publicly listed digital asset treasury (DAT) firms, reporting record quarterly profits of $31 million — more than triple the $8.8 million it earned during the previous quarter.

The gross value of the company's HYPE holdings increased to $133 million during the second quarter, up from $71 million at the end of Q1 2026. This is the second-consecutive quarter Hyperion has set a new quarterly record for net income. In Q2 2025, the company reported a net loss of nearly $9 million.

"We have redefined what it means to be a digital asset treasury. Not only have we substantially grown our treasury position in HYPE, but we have launched multiple scalable businesses and built new products and services on Hyperliquid, all while reducing our costs over time," Hyperion CEO Hyunsu Jung said in a statement.

Across much of the DAT sector, falling crypto prices have eroded balance-sheet gains, causing many companies to trade near or below the value of the tokens they hold. This has forced some firms to either slow down their purchasing of crypto or sell some of their holdings. Even leading Bitcoin treasury Strategy has been forced to adapt to the bearish market.

Alongside its results, Hyperion said it partnered with the HIP-3 deployer Entropy, committing to stake 500,000 of its HYPE tokens. The company promised another 500,000 HYPE to Skew Technologies to support planned HIP-4 outcome markets. The company calls these HYPE Asset Use Service agreements, which provide third parties the necessary 500,000 HYPE token bond needed to spin up a decentralized HIP-3 market.

Those partnerships follow Hyperion terminating agreements with Native Markets and Felix after the USDH stablecoin was discontinued, which freed up 800,000 HYPE tokens for other uses, the company said.

The company held about 2 million HYPE tokens at the end of the second quarter. HYPE was changing hands at $56.14 at publication time, up 3% on the day, according to The Block's data.

Hyperion's shares also rose about 5% in after hours trading.
