SpaceX, Northrop Grumman, and other companies participating in Trump's $185 billion "Golden Dome" missile defense system have completed the first round of key testing, marking early progress for this experimental space missile defense technology. General Guetlein, who oversees the project for the U.S. Space Force, stated that the relevant companies will proceed to the next phase to verify whether their technology can operate in space environments. Previous tests by some companies included transmitting sensor data to interceptors and demonstrating spacecraft propulsion capabilities. In April this year, the U.S. Space Force awarded contracts to develop armed satellites to 12 companies, including RTX, Anduril, and Lockheed Martin. The U.S. government has currently invested $3.2 billion, and future contract values may reach tens of billions of dollars.
