The Reserve Bank of Australia kept interest rates unchanged as expected, with the Australian dollar falling about 15 pips against the US dollar to 0.7044 in the short term, down approximately 0.15% on the day.

Spot gold has just surpassed the $4,370.00/ounce mark, now quoted at $4,369.41/ounce, down 0.47% on the day; COMEX gold futures main contract is currently quoted at $4,429.90/ounce, up 0.23% on the day.
