Ethereum Price Eyes $4K Resistance as EIP-8363 Debate Grows Now
- Ethereum Price holds near $1,919 as analysts watch $4,000 resistance and a wider $10,000-$16,000 fractal target.
- A long-term whale sold 7,323 ETH for $13.96 million after holding and staking the asset for more than three years.
- EIP-8363 adds another variable as developers debate reducing validator rewards when Ethereum staking levels increase.
Ethereum’s Price trades near $1,919 after gaining about 4.5% over the past seven days, while analysts watch a long-term fractal for the next major move. Crypto Patel says ETH still follows a four-year expansion structure similar to that seen after prior Bitcoin halvings. The setup places $4,000 as major resistance, with a wider fractal target between $10,000 and $16,000 if momentum strengthens.
Ethereum Price Fractal Keeps $4,000 Breakout in Focus
In the Elliott Wave framework, Wave 4 appears complete after ETH defended macro support. Ethereum Price would need higher highs and higher lows to keep that structure intact.
Downside levels also remain important. Patel identifies $1,500 to $1,000 as the main macro support zone. A breakdown through that range would weaken the fractal structure and challenge the bullish cycle comparison.
Meanwhile, whale activity adds a separate pressure point. The wallet had bought ETH at an average $2,723 price and later staked the holdings. The sale realized about a $6 million loss, while total losses exceeded $19 million.
Whale Sale and EIP-8363 Add Pressure Around Ethereum
SharpLink CEO Joseph Chalom argues that lower staking yields could weaken DeFi liquidity and institutional demand. Messari analysts also question the proposal, noting Ethereum issuance is already near 0.85% annually.
The debate comes as ETH trades below $2,000, with Messari also describing open interest as sharply reduced from earlier levels. Ethereum Price now sits between technical recovery signals, whale selling pressure, and an unresolved staking-policy debate.
