Spot gold has just surpassed the $4,080.00 per ounce mark, now quoted at $4,080.02 per ounce, up 0.07% on the day; COMEX gold futures main contract is currently quoted at $4,136.40 per ounce, down 0.39% on the day.

Spot silver surged by about $1 in the short term, briefly reaching a two-week high of $60.81 per ounce, as positive developments in the Middle East and a weaker US Dollar Index supported prices.

On August 5, the South Korean Ministry of Employment and Labor announced that the minimum hourly wage for 2027 has been set at 10,700 Korean won (approximately 50.6 yuan), a 3.7% increase from this year. Based on this minimum hourly wage, next year's minimum monthly salary (calculated at 40 hours per week and 209 hours per month) will be 2,236,300 Korean won, applicable to employers in all industries.

Spot silver rose 2.02% intraday to $60.70 per ounce; the main COMEX silver futures contract is now quoted at $60.95 per ounce, up 1.18% on the day.
