05:08 PM EDT, 09/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Unisys (UIS) has completed an agreement with New York Life Insurance to transfer about $200 million of US defined benefit pension obligations by purchasing a group annuity contract using plan assets, the company said late Wednesday. The transaction brings Unisys' cumulative reduction in US qualified pension liabilities to about $520 million since July 2025, against a target of $600 million, the company said. New York Life will assume responsibility for pension benefits for about 1,700 retirees and beneficiaries, with no changes to the amount, timing or form of monthly payments, Unisys said. The company expects a Q3 2026 one-time, non-cash, pretax settlement charge of about $150 million, with no impact on its cash position, it said.
