05:52 PM EDT, 09/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- American Water Works (AWK) unit Illinois American Water completed its acquisition of the City of Venice's wastewater collection system for $770,000, adding about 500 customers in the Metro East area, the company said late Wednesday. Illinois American Water plans to invest $2.6 million in the system over the next five years to rehabilitate wastewater mains and manholes, improve lift stations and upgrade security, the company said.
