AppLovin (APP.US) released its financial results for the third quarter of 2026 (ending September 30) after the US stock market closed on Wednesday. The advertising technology company once again delivered a "textbook-level" performance: revenue, net profit, and adjusted EBITDA all reached record highs for a single quarter, with profitability indicators far ahead of major advertising platforms.

According to Golden Ten Data APP, on November 5 Beijing time, the "AI + advertising" platform AppLovin (APP.US) released its results for the third quarter of 2026 (ending September 30) after the U.S. market close on Wednesday. This ad tech company once again delivered a "textbook-level" performance: revenue, net profit, and adjusted EBITDA all hit record highs for a single quarter, and its profitability indicators continue to lead among major advertising platforms.

Core Performance: Revenue up 55%, Net Profit Margin Reaches 66%

The financial report shows that in the third quarter, AppLovin achieved revenue of $2.185 billion, a year-on-year increase of 55%; net profit reached $1.439 billion, up 72% year-on-year, with a net profit margin as high as 66% (compared to 59% in the same period last year); adjusted EBITDA was $1.842 billion, an increase of 59% year-on-year, with an adjusted EBITDA margin of 84% (compared to 82% last year). Diluted earnings per share were $4.30, up from $2.45 in the same period last year.

Looking over a longer period, growth momentum remains undiminished: in the first nine months of 2026, the company achieved a cumulative revenue of $5.951 billion, up 56% year-on-year; cumulative net profit was $3.911 billion, up 75% year-on-year; cumulative adjusted EBITDA was $5.013 billion, a year-on-year increase of 61%, with a margin of 84%.

Cash flow performance was also strong: in the third quarter, operating cash flow was approximately $1.429 billion, and free cash flow was about $1.418 billion, a year-on-year surge of around 35%. At quarter-end, the company held $3.174 billion in cash and equivalents, with long-term debt of $3.516 billion.

Large-scale Buybacks: $1.4 Billion in a Single Quarter, Authorization Raised to $3.6 Billion

AppLovin continued its aggressive shareholder return strategy: in the third quarter, it repurchased and withheld 4.1 million Class A common shares, spending about $1.4 billion—almost the entirety of free cash flow for the quarter; total buyback spending for the first nine months reached $2.811 billion. The board also approved an additional $3.2 billion in buyback authorization, bringing the total buyback authorization to $3.6 billion by the end of October, more than one-tenth of the company’s current market cap. With strong earnings growth and ongoing share repurchases, outstanding shares have now fallen to approximately 331 million.

Q4 Guidance: Revenue Expected to Reach $2.395 Billion, Margin at 85%

The company’s fourth-quarter guidance continues the dual themes of high growth and high profitability: it expects revenue of $2.365 billion to $2.395 billion (midpoint about $2.38 billion, an increase of around 9% quarter-on-quarter); adjusted EBITDA of $1.995 billion to $2.025 billion, implying a margin between 84% and 85%—i.e., the upper end of the guidance range indicates further margin expansion over Q3.

Market Context: A Decisive Battle After a Plunge

It is noteworthy that this earnings release came amid significant volatility in AppLovin’s share price: on October 30, its stock plunged 10.36% in one day to $228.50, but by the regular session on November 4 had rebounded by 10.69% to $271.75—just before the earnings were released after the close. As a market benchmark for "AI advertising commercialization," AppLovin’s results—a 55% revenue growth with an 84% EBITDA margin—further reinforced its valuation thesis; the implied sequential acceleration and margin expansion in the Q4 guidance directly respond to the recent pullback in "AI trade" sentiment. Following the report, management held a conference call after the U.S. market closed on Wednesday, and the market remained highly focused on comments about the Axon AI engine-powered advertising business and new growth curves in e-commerce advertising.
