Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Rise Pre-Bell Wednesday

09:16 AM EST, 11/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were rising pre-bell Wednesday, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) 2.3% higher and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) advancing by 1.8%. McDonald's (MCD) stock was up more than 2% after the company posted higher Q3 non-GAAP earnings and revenue. Estee Lauder (EL) is targeting "sustainable" mid-single-digit organic net sales growth annually and double-digit adjusted per-share earnings growth through fiscal 2030, the company said. Shares of Estee Lauder were nearly 2% higher premarket. Kraft Heinz (KHC) shares were up more than 1% after the company raised its fiscal 2026 adjusted EPS guidance.
