08:57 AM EST, 11/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The US Treasury intends to maintain the sizes of its coupon auctions, its quarterly refunding announcement Wednesday showed. "Treasury believes its current auction sizes leave it well positioned to address potential changes to the fiscal outlook and to the size and composition of the SOMA portfolio," the Treasury said in its statement. "Based on current projected borrowing needs, Treasury anticipates maintaining nominal coupon and FRN auction sizes for the next several quarters." Likewise, Treasury plans to maintain the sizes of its TIPS auction and to maintain its benchmark bill sizes in November before lowering them in December and then raising them in January. Next week, the Treasury will sell $58 billion of 3-year notes, $42 billion of 10-year notes, and $25 billion of 30-year bonds. Treasury plans to convert its 7-year note schedule from a monthly issuance of a new security to a quarterly new issuance followed by two monthly reopenings, starting in March 2027.
