Meta Seeks to Raise at Least $20 Billion In Latest Bond Sale -- WSJ

Meta Platforms kicked off an investment-grade bond sale this morning targeting $20 billion to $25 billion, a person familiar with the matter said, as it continues raising hundreds of billions of dollars to finance an AI infrastucture buildout.

The five-part bond sale is expected to be roughly two-thirds dollars and one-third euros, the person said.

Meta last tapped the U.S. investment-grade bond market in April, but has raised equity and financed data center projects through off balance sheet, joint-venture arrangements since then.

Even top-rated borrowers like Meta have faced pushback from investors this fall over their plans to rapdily add new debt. As bond sales grow more expensive, access to capital is increasingly becoming a bottleneck in the AI buildout.
