RTX's Raytheon Wins Contract to Develop Optical Processing System

09:20 AM EST, 11/03/2026 (MT Newswires) -- RTX's (RTX) Raytheon has won a phase one contract from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, part of the US Department of Defense, to develop an all-optical processing system for the Photonic Integrated Circuit Architectures for Scalable System Objectives program, the company said Tuesday. Raytheon's Advanced Technology team will design and demonstrate photonic circuits that use light, rather than electricity, to process signals, according to a statement. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
