BlackRock’s Ethereum ETF sees 580,145 ETH outflow, ETH holds above $2,209
Ethereum (ETH) is experiencing continued selling pressure, with recent outflows from BlackRock’s spot Ethereum exchange-traded fund (ETF) fueling uncertainty over institutional demand for the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency.
BlackRock’s ETH ETF records major monthly outflows
BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, has seen significant withdrawals from its iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA) in recent weeks. According to blockchain data provider SoSoValue, the ETF witnessed outflows totaling 580,145 ETH over the past month.
This sizable outflow underlines institutional investors’ diminishing appetite for Ethereum exposure via US-listed spot ETFs. The reduction has taken place as broader market sentiment remains subdued, with digital assets facing high volatility and challenging macroeconomic conditions.
Over the past month, BlackRock’s ETHA ETF saw outflows amounting to 580,145 ETH, reflecting a shift in institutional positioning as market uncertainty persists.
The withdrawals from one of the leading spot Ethereum products in the US market have raised fresh concerns about the sustainability of large-scale institutional interest in ETH.
These developments coincide with Ethereum’s ongoing struggle to regain higher price levels, intensifying the bearish outlook in the short term.

Ethereum Foundation focuses on institutional and public sector engagement
In response to shifting market dynamics, the Ethereum Foundation is intensifying efforts to promote adoption among governments and institutions. The non-profit organization guides the technical development and growth of the Ethereum ecosystem, supporting both public and private initiatives.
The Foundation has recently launched a dedicated public-sector website to encourage governments and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to consider Ethereum as a foundational digital infrastructure platform. This move aims to demonstrate how blockchain technology can be leveraged in public services and collaborative projects.
A key initiative includes a proof of concept for a humanitarian aid coordination network, which integrates decentralized identity and privacy-focused payments to streamline the distribution of support and protect recipient information.
Such applications could enable greater transparency and efficiency for aid agencies and NGOs looking to coordinate operations securely and openly.

Technical signals point to bearish momentum and key levels
From a technical perspective, ETH remains under pressure as it struggles to break through immediate resistance zones. On the hourly timeframe, ETH/USD trades below both its 20-period and 50-period Moving Averages, highlighting continued selling momentum in the short term.
Despite persistent headwinds, Ethereum has maintained its price above the 200-day Moving Average, suggesting longer-term support is still intact. However, analysts note that the most critical resistance to watch currently stands at $2,271. Only a decisive move above this mark may deliver a shift in sentiment and open the path towards the next target of $2,307.
The inability to retake $2,271 resistance keeps ETH exposed to more downside risk, with $2,209 marking the key support level for potential sellers. If Ethereum drops below this threshold, it could prompt further declines.
Technical indicators lend weight to the cautious outlook. The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) remains negative, while the Relative Strength Index (RSI) hovers in a range reflecting lackluster demand. The Commodity Channel Index (CCI) also flags a selling bias in the near term.
Other momentum gauges, including Bull/Bear Power, the Awesome Oscillator, the Average Directional Index (ADX), and Stochastic RSI, show that traders remain hesitant about a reversal, amplifying the focus on upcoming price levels.
The technical picture remains bearish for Ethereum, with momentum indicators and moving averages signaling that sellers dominate the market as long as resistance at $2,271 holds.
Analysts project that Ethereum’s price could consolidate further, with short-term trading likely to unfold within the $2,209 to $2,307 range as market participants await a clearer break in either direction.
A recovery above $2,271 may offer the first sign of a shift toward buying, but a sustained upward move would require improving demand and renewed confidence from larger investors.
