Reuters, November 2 - Hotel operator Marriott International (MAR.O) on Monday raised its full-year revenue per available room forecast, expecting that strong travel demand will drive increased bookings across its hotels.
The company’s shares rose 3.4% in premarket trading.
Despite persistently high inflation and geopolitical uncertainty, leisure travel demand has remained robust. This quarter, affluent consumers have been splurging on luxury experiences, while demand for midscale and economy hotels has also improved.
Business travel momentum has also remained strong, greatly benefiting hotel operators such as Marriott.
The Bethesda, Maryland-based company expects 2026 revenue per available room (revPAR)—a key lodging metric used to track average daily rates and occupancy—to grow by 4.5% to 5%, up from its prior forecast of 3% to 3.5%.
Marriott’s luxury segment—which includes brands such as Ritz-Carlton and St. Regis—reported that its U.S. and Canada revPAR increased by 8.3%.
