THORWallet Integrates Monero, Bringing Native XMR Support to the App

Users can now access the Monero network through the THORWallet app, with support for core functionality including sending and receiving XMR. The integration goes beyond basic wallet functionality. Users can create and manage multiple Monero accounts derived from the same wallet seed, providing greater flexibility when managing their activity across the network. THORWallet also gives users the ability to configure their own Monero node. Users who prefer to interact with a specific node can configure it directly within the wallet, ensuring their Monero activity is routed through that node. For everyone else, THORWallet provides a default node for communicating with the Monero blockchain. THORWallet runs a light weight implementation: your keys, balances and transaction history are computed and stored on your device and never leave it. Cross-Chain Monero Swaps Are Coming The next major step for the integration is native cross-chain swapping. Monero support on THORChain is currently being tested and audited. Once it goes live, THORWallets Monero integration will be production ready for native XMR cross-chain swaps directly within the app. This will allow users to swap between Monero and assets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and others without relying on centralized exchanges or custodial intermediaries. For example, a user will be able to swap XMR directly to BTC, or BTC to XMR, stablecoins, SOL, ZEC and more through decentralized cross-chain infrastructure while remaining in control of their assets throughout the process. With the Monero integration now underway and cross-chain swaps approaching production, THORWallet moves another step closer to its goal of becoming a one-stop shop for DeFi.
