Ethereum has pushed above resistance near $2,661, a level identified by Reuters technical analysis as the peak of a bullish continuation formation. This breakout is now drawing attention to the $3,000 threshold, with analysts suggesting the price could approach $3,050 if current momentum is sustained.

Resistance levels and near-term targets

The move above $2,661 signals a shift in sentiment, but experts caution that Ethereum faces another challenge in the $2,775 to $2,825 range. This zone may act as a short-term consolidation region that could slow the pace of any further gains.

Coinpaper, a digital asset research firm, noted that ETH recently overcame the $2,500–$2,550 region that had persistently limited previous rallies. Passing that hurdle was considered essential to reopening the path toward higher targets, including the $2,800 and $3,000 benchmarks.

Reuters analysts expect the $2,775–$2,825 area to serve as the next consolidation range. Should ETH manage to break through this region with conviction, the psychologically important $3,000 mark would become the natural next objective.

Resistance/Support Level Analysis
$2,661 Recent breakout, top of bullish pattern
$2,775–$2,825 Pivotal consolidation zone before $3,000
$3,000 Major psychological and technical target
$2,560–$2,565 First important downside, could weaken momentum
$2,350–$2,360 Key support, break could signal failed rally

Supply factors and institutional flows

The broader outlook for Ethereum is supported by a constricting liquid supply. Data indicates that about 35% of ETH is now staked, while exchange balances have declined to multi-year lows. Coinpaper recently explored the idea that as staking and long-term holdings increase, available supply for trading is shrinking, potentially setting the stage for stronger price action if demand remains steady.

Institutional demand appears to be stabilizing again following a period of turbulence related to spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds. Recent inflows have played a crucial role in helping ETH recover from lows below $2,400 and in fueling the technical breakout above previous resistance levels.

Key support zones and risk outlook

Reuters identified the $2,560–$2,565 area as the primary downside level to watch. A decline below this zone could compromise the improved technical structure that has recently emerged.

If ETH were to break significantly below $2,350–$2,360, analysts warned it could indicate the current rally has concluded.

Recent inflows from institutional investors have allowed ETH to reclaim territory above previous resistance, while the percentage of staked coins continues to rise, pointing to a tightening supply environment.

As Ethereum trades above key resistance levels, the prospect of reaching $3,000 in the coming sessions is back in focus, though further confirmation and a sustained move through consolidation areas remain essential for continued bullish momentum.
