🔥 Bitget US Stock Spotlight|2026.09.21 Theme: S&P inclusion takes effect today|US-China summit · AI power · tokenized stocks image 0

1. S&P 500 inclusion effective at today’s open
Bloom Energy, Everpure and Illumina officially join the S&P 500 before the open on Sept. 21, replacing TAP, TTD and BLDR. DELL, PANW, ANET and SNDK join the S&P 100 at the same time. BE is tied to on-site data-center power; P (formerly Pure Storage) is tied to enterprise and hyperscale AI storage. Passive rebalancing started in Friday’s close and carries into Monday.
🎯 Beneficiaries: BE, P, SNDK, ANET; Key catalyst: Forced index buying versus “buy the rumor, sell the news” on inclusion day.

2. Night before the Trump-Xi summit: chips and tariffs on the same table
Treasury Secretary Bessent met China’s He Lifeng in New York on Sept. 20. Agenda items include trade, AI and the Iran conflict. Trump and Xi meet in Washington this week, with AI, tariffs and rare earths on the list. Jensen Huang, Sam Altman and Tim Cook are expected at the Sept. 24 state dinner. H200 licensing and export controls remain the key variable. US equity futures opened slightly higher Sunday night.
🎯 Beneficiaries: NVDA, AVGO, MU; Key catalyst: Summit language and chip-export wording — headlines will move the tape more than fundamentals.

3. Huang’s “don’t slow down” message + AI power alliance
On CBS, Jensen Huang said there is a 0% chance AI ends the world by 2030 and that chip unit shipments could double next year. NVDA closed Friday up 1.34%. Nvidia, Google and Emerald AI launched the AI Energy Management Alliance to treat data centers as flexible grid loads. Vera Rubin NVL72 debuted on MLPerf Inference. The AI-safety slowdown narrative is losing grip on chip stocks.
🎯 Beneficiaries: NVDA, GOOGL, VRT; Key catalyst: Easier regulatory expectations plus power and inference benchmarks — watch whether volume confirms the story.

4. SEC opens a five-year lane for tokenized US stocks
The SEC’s innovation exemption took effect Sept. 17, allowing qualifying tokenized NMS stocks to trade on permissioned AMMs for five years. Coinbase also filed with the CFTC to list cash-settled single-stock perpetual futures on names such as Apple and Nvidia. Goldman flagged COIN, HOOD and CRCL as potential beneficiaries. COIN jumped last Friday.
🎯 Beneficiaries: COIN, HOOD, CRCL; Key catalyst: Product rollout after the rule, not just the sentiment spike.

5. Huawei pulls Ascend forward to 2027; US-China compute standoff heats up
At Huawei Connect, the company said Ascend 960DT moves up to Q1 2027 and 960PR to Q3, using SuperPoD and million-chip interconnects to offset the single-chip gap. The rotating chairman said Ascend’s China share may already exceed Nvidia’s. Anthropic’s call to slow frontier development was dismissed in Beijing as scare-mongering. Chip stocks are pricing “slow down vs. race.”
🎯 Beneficiaries: NVDA, TSM, AVGO; Key catalyst: Chip-export language during the summit versus the Huawei substitution narrative.

6. Data-center power: fuel cells enter the index as oil stays elevated
Bloom unveiled an 800V DC fuel-cell system for data centers; Mizuho had already raised its price target. The AI power bottleneck is shifting from “is there enough power” to “can it be deployed on-site, fast.” Houthis claimed weekend strikes on Saudi Arabia. Oil is still near $100 and the 10-year yield is hugging 5%, so energy and power names are moving with tech.
🎯 Beneficiaries: BE, VST, CEG; Key catalyst: Inclusion-day flows plus a second hit to oil and power prices from Middle East headlines.

Trading note: Price the S&P inclusion names at the open first, then the US-China talking points. Capital is splitting across AI compute, power and tokenized trading. The 10-year yield and oil cap how much upside growth stocks can keep.

How to avoid AI? This is the big dilemma for pension funds and sovereign funds

The AI wave is breaking through institutional investors' diversification defenses. From stocks and private equity to bonds and infrastructure, AI risk has fully penetrated—Goldman Sachs estimates that companies related to AI account for 40% of the S&P 500's market value, and AI bond issuances make up nearly half of the investment-grade market. Pension funds and sovereign wealth funds are being forced to redefine "risk," struggling to survive between missing out on gains and excessive concentration.
