Eurozone finance ministers may hold a special meeting to discuss measures in response to rising energy prices

According to foreign media reports, finance ministers from Eurozone countries may hold a special meeting to discuss how to address the continuously rising energy prices amid fiscal tensions and turmoil in the global bond market. Sources familiar with the closed-door talks revealed that the finance ministers’ meeting held in Dublin on Friday expressed concerns about the impact of the Middle East war on households, as well as the additional pressure government measures are putting on public finances. In response to these concerns, Eurogroup President Kyriakos Pierrakakis stated that he does not rule out the possibility of convening an emergency meeting, but declined to comment on details involving confidential matters.
