Nvidia has invested $2 billion in the Global Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure Fund under Brookfield Asset Management.

According to investor documents, NVIDIA (NVDA.US) has invested $2 billion into the Global Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure Fund under Brookfield Asset Management (BAM.US), as reported by Zhihui Finance APP. This document reveals for the first time the specific size of this previously announced investment, showing that as global AI computing power infrastructure continues to expand, NVIDIA is further extending its capital deployment into data centers, power, and computing infrastructure.

NVIDIA and the Kuwait Investment Authority are both cornerstone investors in the Brookfield Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure Fund. Brookfield announced the partnership last year but did not disclose NVIDIA’s specific investment amount at the time. The fund aims to raise $10 billion, focusing on investment in global AI infrastructure, including factories that support AI development, dedicated behind-the-meter power solutions, and computing infrastructure.

Brookfield Accelerates AI Infrastructure Deployment, Plans to Raise Around $50 Billion for Infrastructure Business Over Two Years

Headquartered in New York, Brookfield has in recent years become one of the major providers of private capital for global AI infrastructure construction. In addition to the plan to raise $10 billion for the aforementioned AI Infrastructure Fund, the company has also set out a much larger capital-raising plan.

Previous reports indicate that Brookfield plans to raise about $50 billion for its overall infrastructure business in the next two years, and AI will be integrated throughout the group’s various investment strategies. Meanwhile, Brookfield is also a member of an investment consortium led by NVIDIA. The consortium has committed to financing AI computing projects with a total scale exceeding $500 billion, further reflecting how capital expenditures in the AI industry are shifting from just chips to include data centers, electricity, and broader infrastructure sectors.

For NVIDIA, this $2 billion investment also means that, while being the world’s largest AI accelerator supplier, the company is further participating in building the AI infrastructure ecosystem through capital collaboration. As demand for AI model training and inference continues to grow, the links between chips, electricity, data centers, and financing capabilities are becoming increasingly close.

Aiming for $1.3 Trillion in Assets, Infrastructure Will Hold an Important Position

Brookfield has also announced longer-term asset expansion goals. According to materials released at the company’s annual Investor Day on Thursday, Brookfield plans to double its fee-generating assets under management to $1.3 trillion by 2031, with infrastructure expected to account for around 16%.

This means that infrastructure will remain a key pillar for Brookfield’s future asset management scale expansion, and AI data centers and related energy infrastructure are likely to become important investment directions within it.

However, Brookfield CEO Connor Teskey stated that the company has set a “very high” bar for new acquisition transactions. Nevertheless, Brookfield will continue to seek business opportunities that can enhance its existing investment strategy, including in the credit sector—particularly asset-backed financing—as well as certain private equity and fund distribution businesses.
