03:15 PM EDT, 09/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were lower late Wednesday afternoon, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) down 0.3% and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) shedding 0.7%. In corporate news, Wendy's (WEN) shares fell 4.5% after Seaport Global Securities started coverage of the company with a neutral rating.
