Saudi air defenses intercept Houthi drone near Mecca
The Saudi-led coalition said that Saudi air defenses intercepted and destroyed a drone launched by Yemen’s Houthi group near Mecca, Reuters reported on Tuesday.
Major General Turki Al-Malki, spokesperson for the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, stated that the act was a red line and the Coalition will act against Houthis.
The move came a day after the coalition said 13 civilians were injured in missile and drone attacks by the Houthis on Khamis Mushait, Abha and Taif, with seven homes and two vehicles damaged.
Market reaction
At the time of writing, the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) is down 0.85% on the day at $100.10.
