TXNM Energy, Blackstone Infrastructure File Motion With NMPRC to Submit Revised Merger Application

01:18 PM EDT, 09/15/2026 (MT Newswires) -- TXNM Energy (TXNM) and Blackstone's (BX) Blackstone Infrastructure have filed a motion with the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission seeking authorization to submit a revised version of their merger application, TXNM said Tuesday. The motion included a draft of the revised application that would provide $300 million in benefits for customers and communities as part of Blackstone's proposed acquisition of TXNM, according to a statement. The draft revised application includes $220 million in direct customer rate credits, more than doubling the original plan, while increasing commitments to workforce development, economic progress, and affordability initiatives across New Mexico, per the statement. The proposed transaction is subject to review and approval by the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission and other regulatory approvals, the company added.
