Joe Biden’s son to launch LAPTOP coin on Base, taking aim at TRUMP: Report
Former President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden is set to launch a meme coin on Coinbase’s Base on Sept. 9 dubbed LAPTOP, The Wall Street Journal reported Monday.
The token tied to one of the most recognizable controversies surrounding his family will have a total supply of one billion, with founders including Biden holding 30% under a vesting schedule.

Another portion will support charity, liquidity and the foundation overseeing the project.
The launch comes as meme coin enthusiasm has cooled. The TRUMP token, launched shortly before Trump’s inauguration, has plunged almost 97% from its peak.
Hunter Biden, who recently floated the possibility of running for president in 2028, has increasingly voiced support for crypto. He has posted pro-crypto messages on X and made crypto-friendly remarks during interviews. He also accepts Bitcoin for his artwork.
