Norwegian natural gas system operator Gassco on Friday revised the detailed parameters of the unplanned outage at the Kollsnes facility, increasing the scale of the outage from approximately 10 million cubic meters per day to around 15 million cubic meters per day.
This outage began on the morning of September 5 local time and is expected to last until the morning of September 6. Gassco stated that the adjustment is related to storage recovery operations.
The expanded supply disruption has heightened tensions in the European natural gas market. As one of Europe's main gas sources, any fluctuations in Norwegian gas transmission can have a marginal impact on regional supply and demand balance.
Further attention should be given to whether the facility can resume normal operations as scheduled, as well as to inventory changes and price reactions in major consumer markets such as the UK and the Netherlands during the outage.
