Sichuan issues the "Fifteenth Five-Year" agricultural plan, ensuring grain sowing area remains above 96 million mu.

The "Fifteenth Five-Year Plan for Accelerating the Modernization of Agriculture and Rural Areas in Sichuan Province" has been issued. It states the comprehensive implementation of the arable land protection and food security accountability system, ensuring the food crop planting area remains stable at over 9.6 million mu. A new round of food production capacity improvement actions will be carried out, further advancing the "Tianfu Granary • Hundreds of Counties, Thousands of Areas" initiative, implementing the "one-ton grain field" project, and promoting the integrated efficiency improvement of the "Four Highs" (high-quality land, high-quality seeds, high-quality machinery, high-quality techniques), to systematically boost large-scale unit yield. The grain planting structure and regional layout will be optimized, with continuous improvement of rice and corn capacity, stabilization of wheat production, consolidation of soybean and oilseed crop expansion achievements, and localized development of autumn and winter potatoes and ratoon rice. The provincial government will implement subsidies for large-scale grain growers and incentive policies for food production, and enforce the minimum purchase price policy for rice. Comprehensive promotion will be given to full cost insurance for the three major food crops, as well as full cost and planting income insurance for soybeans.
