U.S. Labor Market Won't Be Source of Inflationary Pressure -- Market Talk
Dow Jones2026/09/02 13:550955 ET - The slowdown in payroll gains in ADP's latest employment report suggests that the labor market won't be a source of inflationary pressure, according to a note from Oxford Economics. "Lack of labor tightness should keep nominal wage growth from accelerating," the report said. At Kevin Warsh's Jackson Hole speech last week, the Fed chairman said recent data has shown moderate wage growth, but in tracking underlying inflation, wage growth has not proven a reliable indicator of future inflation for a "very long time."
