XRP Ledger saw a marked surge in network activity, processing 879,868 payments on September 1, according to data compiled by XRPSCAN. This increase pushed daily transactions close to the psychologically significant one million mark.

Volume spike and approaching milestone
The most recent 24-hour reading showed a 33.6% jump in daily payments compared to the previous day, a move that significantly outpaces the network’s 30-day average of about 686,800 transactions. The current level means XRP Ledger is handling approximately 193,000 more daily payments than usual.
If activity rises by an additional 13.7% from the latest tally, XRP Ledger is set to cross the one million daily payment threshold once again. While not an all-time high, reaching this milestone would signal a robust return to elevated on-chain usage after a quieter summer.
Historical data indicates that during several periods between February and May, daily payments on XRP Ledger topped 1.5 million, with the peak volume surpassing two million. The platform’s highest daily activity still holds at around six million processed payments, based on XRPSCAN figures.
Daily payments on XRP Ledger have largely fluctuated between 500,000 and one million for the past year, with only brief surges to higher levels during the first half of the year.

Network recovery follows weaker summer
After posting much lower payment figures in June and July, the network’s current activity level confirms a substantial recovery. The steady climb in transaction volume highlights renewed interest and engagement across the broader XRP ecosystem, pointing to improved network health.
Surpassing one million daily payments would be among the strongest indicators of positive momentum for the XRP Ledger since the earlier record-setting spikes. Although prior peaks have reached higher, the latest surge stands out against recent months’ quieter activity.
XRP price action diverges from network growth
Despite the uptick in network activity, XRP’s market price has shown a different trend. Following a surge in August that propelled the token above $1.50, XRP has since pulled back to around $1.32. Technical analysis shows the price recently dipped below the 200-day exponential moving average (EMA) at $1.35, a level closely watched by traders for longer-term market direction.
Still, XRP trades above its shorter-term moving averages, with the 50-day EMA at approximately $1.28 and the 100-day EMA near $1.22. This positioning suggests the broader recovery structure remains intact for now, despite the recent price retreat.
A sustained move above support in the $1.27–$1.28 range could allow XRP to retest the $1.35 level, while a larger decline carries the risk of dropping back toward the $1.21–$1.22 range. Market observers credit the rise in network payments as a positive fundamental indicator, even as price momentum remains uncertain in the short term.

With network activity rapidly recovering, industry analysts are watching closely to see if a return to one million daily payments can translate into bullish momentum for $XRP in the coming weeks.
