04:34 AM EDT, 09/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- OpenAI said Apple (AAPL) was unable to show that any confidential information was stolen by its former employees, dismissing the iPhone maker's trade secret theft allegations and saying the company has itself to blame for, Reuters reported Tuesday. In July, the tech giant sued the ChatGPT maker and former Apple employees Tang Tan and Chang Liu, alleging that they misappropriated trade secrets tied to hardware design, manufacturing and supply chain operations, according to the report. OpenAI countered by saying that the case is an attempt to curb its expansion into consumer hardware, Reuters reported. OpenAI and Apple didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
