The yield on the 30-year U.S. Treasury bond rose to 5.34% in mid-August, marking the highest level since 2007—just 10 basis points below the highest in 22 years. As of Monday, the number of days in 2024 with 30-year Treasury yields closing above 5% has reached 55, making this year the highest since 2006. On Tuesday, the yield stood at 5.27%.
