Lucid Group (LCID) is recalling 27,185 of its Air luxury US sedans because an exterior lighting circuit could overheat and increase the risk of a fire, Reuters reported Friday, citing the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, or NHTSA. Lucid is distributing an online software patch to fix the defect, with 20,719 affected vehicles already receiving the update, the report said. The recall notice asked owners to park their vehicles outside and away from structures until a remedy is deployed, the report said. The recall is Lucid's largest to date, Reuters said. NHTSA did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment, while Lucid said it had issued a recall advisory for certain model year 2022-2026 Lucid Air vehicles. The company added that it has reached out directly to Air vehicle owners, and the remedy software has already been updated on many of the affected vehicles.
