European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Edge Higher in Friday Trading

11:22 AM EDT, 08/28/2026 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were marginally higher late Friday morning, edging up 0.03% to 1,963.94 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index, which is off 0.5% for the week. From continental Europe, the gainers were led by accommodations booking site trivago (TRVG) and medical device maker EDAP TMS (FOCL), which rose 3.7% and 0.7% respectively. They were followed by consumer goods company Unilever (UL), which was up 0.7% respectively. The decliners from continental Europe were led by biotech firms BioNTech (BNTX) and DBV Technologies (DBVT), which fell 7.5% and 4.8% respectively. They were followed by 3D printer company Materialise (MTLS) and biopharmaceutical company Cellectis (CLLS), which were down 3.8% and 2.1% respectively. The gainers from the UK were led by lender HSBC (HSBC), which rose 1.1%, followed by alcoholic beverage company Diageo (DEO) and software firm Endava (DAVA), which advanced 0.5% and 0.1% respectively. The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company Biodexa Pharmaceuticals (BDRX) and biotech firm Autolus Therapeutics (AUTL), which dropped 3.4% and 2.8% respectively. They were followed by biotech firm Bicycle Therapeutics (BCYC) and medical device firm Trinity Biotech (TRIB), which lost 2.8% and 2.6% respectively.
