02:42 PM EDT, 08/25/2026 (MT Newswires) -- PepsiCo (PEP) will stop covering prescription weight-loss drugs under its company health insurance plans for some employees starting in October due to rising costs, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing an email sent to employees. The email said weight-loss drugs have become one of the fastest-growing costs in PepsiCo's health plans. Employees can continue taking the medications by paying outside the company plans, Bloomberg said. About 6% of large employers dropped coverage for weight-loss drugs in 2026, while another 5% plan to do so in 2027, according to Mercer data cited by Bloomberg.
