Canada’s retaliatory list covers more than 700 types of American goods, with tariffs ranging from 15% to 50%

Canada will impose retaliatory tariffs of 15%, 25%, and 50% on more than 700 types of U.S. goods starting from September 8. U.S. goods subject to the 50% tariff include steel, aluminum, furniture, golf clubs, clothing, and apparel. The countermeasures apply to U.S. imports worth CA$27.6 billion (equivalent to US$19.9 billion), focusing on dairy products, home appliances, agricultural equipment, pulp and paper, as well as electronics. The U.S. dollar figures are based on 2024 import data.
