Philip Morris International to Manufacture Cigarettes for Altria

07:40 AM EDT, 08/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Philip Morris International (PM) entered into a contract manufacturing arrangement with Philip Morris USA, an operating company of Altria (MO), for combustible cigarettes, the company said Monday. The arrangement will leverage both companies' manufacturing capabilities, with shipments expected to begin in early 2027, and no material impact expected on Philip Morris' 2026 results. The company said the deal does not represent a return to selling cigarettes in the US. Philip Morris said it will maintain its smoke-free strategy, with both companies remaining independent and handling their own commercialization, distribution and regulatory activities.
