ASTER Under Pressure After $1.37M Token Unlock: Key Levels to Watch Next

  • ASTER faces growing selling pressure after a $1.37 million token unlock increased circulating supply.
  • Buybacks and rising network activity provide support despite weakening technical indicators.
  • A break below support could send ASTER toward the $0.58 liquidity zone.

Aster — ASTER, has entered a crucial period after unlocking $1.37 million worth of tokens, placing fresh supply into the market while price continues hovering near long-term support. The latest distribution arrives during a period of weak price momentum, leaving traders uncertain about the next move. Although network activity remains healthy and buybacks continue reducing circulating supply, bearish technical signals still dominate. The coming days could determine whether buyers regain control or sellers drive ASTER toward lower support levels.

Buybacks Face a Crucial Test as Fresh Supply Enters the Market

More than 70% of the newly unlocked tokens went toward ecosystem staking and community airdrops, according to the latest release data. Such an allocation supports network participation and encourages long-term engagement instead of directing the entire release into open market trading. Even so, any increase in circulating supply can create additional selling pressure, especially when market sentiment remains fragile.

The timing also raises concerns because ASTER has struggled to generate meaningful price momentum for several weeks. Trading activity has remained relatively quiet, with price holding near the bottom of a range that has contained movement for months. Without stronger buying interest, additional supply could make recovery even more difficult. A recent report highlighted an important counterbalance.

The protocol has directed 99% of generated rewards toward token buybacks, while unclaimed rewards have returned to users through ecosystem airdrops. This strategy helps reduce available supply over time while continuing to reward community participation. Even so, buybacks must absorb new tokens quickly enough to prevent fresh selling pressure from dominating the market.

ASTER Risks Further Losses if Support Breaks

The technical picture continues favoring sellers. ASTER has traded inside the same range since February 9, fluctuating between approximately $0.595 and $0.775. Current price action sits close to the lower boundary of that range, placing critical support under increasing pressure. A decisive breakdown would likely strengthen bearish momentum across the market.

Another warning comes from the moving averages. ASTER continues trading below every major Exponential Moving Average, confirming sellers still control the broader trend. Bulls must reclaim those technical levels before market sentiment can shift in a more positive direction.

Liquidation data identifies another important area around $0.58, where more than $1 million in liquidation positions have accumulated. Markets often gravitate toward such liquidity zones during periods of weakness, making that level a major downside target if current support fails. Fresh supply from the recent token unlock could increase pressure if holders decide to sell into the market.
