Lightspark launches Grid global account with support for AI agent-authorized payments
Foresight News reports that former PayPal President and Lightspark CEO David Marcus announced the launch of Grid Global Account at the "Bitcoin 2026" conference. This product is built with the Bitcoin network as the underlying settlement layer and opens APIs to platforms and developers, providing users with US dollar accounts, Visa debit cards, cross-border payments and receipts, as well as instant Bitcoin exchange services. Lightspark is responsible for KYC, compliance, and risk control. In addition, Marcus demonstrated an AI agent authorized payment feature, allowing users to authorize their accounts to AI agents, set limits, and have the agents autonomously handle shopping, transfers, and other operations. Users always retain ultimate control.
