```htmlGolden Ten Data reported on March 26 that Goldman Sachs’ portfolio strategy team stated in a research report that due to energy prices expected to remain high for the long term, India’s macroeconomic structure has deteriorated. As a result, Goldman Sachs has downgraded Indian equities from “overweight” to “neutral.” Given India’s higher susceptibility to energy shocks, Goldman Sachs economists lowered India’s GDP growth forecast for 2026 by 1.1 percentage points to 5.9%. The team also cumulatively reduced earnings growth expectations of the Indian stock market over the next two years by 9 percentage points. Furthermore, the team anticipates that investor confidence in Indian equities will weaken in the short term. The team has lowered the 12-month target price for the Nifty 50 index from the previous 29,300 points to 25,900 points. The latest closing of the Nifty 50 index rose 1.7%, reporting at 23,306.45 points.```
