$XRP remains below $10 nearly nine years after 2017 forecasts. Historical prices and a larger circulating supply put the long-running target in context.
$XRP traded near $1.50 on September 24, remaining below a $10 price target that was already appearing in community forecasts during the 2017 bull market. Nearly nine years later, the cryptocurrency’s recorded highs remain below $4 on both CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko.
Double-Digit $XRP Forecasts Date Back to 2017
A December 23, 2017 discussion on Reddit’s r/Ripple forum outlined scenarios in which $XRP could exceed $10. The arguments centered on broader exchange access, increased trading activity, and anticipated adoption by banks and businesses.
Within that discussion, a participant posting as CryptoInvestor87 forecast $XRP reaching $10 by December 2018 and characterized that estimate as conservative. Other participants challenged the higher projections and questioned speculation about potential corporate adoption. The thread therefore records both bullish expectations and skepticism during the same market cycle.
Those forecasts followed substantial price gains. Ripple’s fourth-quarter 2017 markets report recorded a 29,631% annual increase in $XRP’s price and an 887% gain during the final quarter. According to the report, $XRP crossed $1 on December 21 before continuing higher.
However, Ripple also distinguished company partnerships from actual $XRP usage. The report explicitly stated that the American Express/Santander announcement and a Korean banking initiative highlighted during the quarter did not involve $XRP.
$XRP to $10, 2026 Price Predictions
Below are some 2026 $XRP to $10 predictions from top influencers.
1. Ash Crypto — Reported September 23, 2026
Ash Crypto has included a $10 $XRP target in his latest market outlook, alongside forecasts of $250,000 for Bitcoin, $10,000 for Ethereum, and $1,000 for Solana. He tied those targets to an anticipated market-wide bull run but did not specify when $XRP would reach double digits.
2. Crypto Cup — September 22, 2026
Crypto Cup issued a separate $10 $XRP forecast on September 22, alongside targets of $5,000 for Ethereum, $450 for Solana, and $5 for Sui. None of the $XRP to $10 Predictions Came True
The $10 $XRP target was already circulating in 2017 and continues to appear in forecasts in 2026. Yet, as of September 24, 2026, none of those predictions has materialized. CoinMarketCap records $XRP’s all-time high at $3.84, leaving the double-digit milestone unmet nearly nine years after those early forecasts.
The Same $10 Target Now Implies a Larger Market Value
$XRP’s circulating supply has also changed since the original forecasts.
CoinMarketCap recorded approximately 38.74 billion $XRP in circulation on December 31, 2017. Its current figure is approximately 62.88 billion $XRP, an increase of around 62.3% between the two snapshots.
Applying a $10 price to those supply figures produces different valuations. The 2017 circulating supply would have implied a market capitalization of approximately $387.4 billion. At today’s supply, the same token price would imply approximately $628.8 billion.
The calculation assumes circulating supply remains unchanged. Market capitalization measures token price multiplied by circulating supply; it does not represent the amount of new money that would need to enter the market. Consequently, the larger valuation describes the scale of the $10 scenario, not whether or when it will occur.
