Novo Nordisk's long-term weight management indication receives updated approval from NMPA

Novo Nordisk (NVO.US) announced that the long-term weight management indication for Wegovy (semaglutide injection) has been approved for update by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) of China, further expanding coverage to people who meet China's adult overweight and obesity criteria. Following this update, Wegovy is indicated for long-term weight management in adult patients, in conjunction with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, whose initial body mass index (BMI) meets the following conditions: ≥28kg/m2 (obese); or ≥24kg/m2 to <28kg/m2 (overweight) with at least one weight-related comorbidity, such as hyperglycemia, hypertension, dyslipidemia, obstructive sleep apnea, or cardiovascular disease.
